The Nursing Assistant program fulfills the requirement of the 75 hour Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act (OBRA) for the training of long-term care nursing assistants. Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) provide basic patient care under the direction of nursing staff. Duties may include: bathing, grooming and feeding patients; obtaining and monitoring vital signs; ambulatory assistance and comfort measures. The Nursing Assistant program is taught in-person and includes hands-on instruction.
Our Nursing Assistant program is 4 weeks and costs $900 including $150 non-refundable application fee.
Upon successful completion of program requirements, students are prepared to take the Alabama Nurse Aide Registry examination to become a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). Alabama’s CNAs are under the jurisdiction of the Alabama Department of Public Health.
